The singer was slammed by fans for wearing a coat trimmed with animal pelts.

ALEXANDRA Burke has issued a public apology for wearing fur just four years after posing naked for PETA.

The singer was pictured wearing a jacket lined with animal pelts after previously fronting an anti-fur campaign.

Burke wrote on her Twitter page: "I’ve just learned the sad truth of how a coat I wore recently was made. I am an animal lover, as most of you will know I have 4 dogs.

"I should have asked how it was manufactured and now I know, I will never wear it again.

"I am really sorry for any hurt or upset I have caused xx."

One fan wrote on her timeline: "Alexandra Burke....poses for PETA anti-fur campaign then proceeds to wear a real fur trimmed coat. Disappointing. #strictly #scd #strictly2017 #StrictlyComeDancing."

Another tweeted: "I used to like Alexandra but not anymore because of her promotion of animal cruelty."
